SAS Rope & Rail are the structural examination experts. We have been providing specialist structural examination services since 2004, offering our clients a host of safe and efficient detailed inspection options. Our unique rope access technique allows us to carry out a huge range of structural examinations, no matter how limited or difficult the access, in a way that is affordable, minimally intrusive, and completely safe.

We are able to carry out an enormously diverse range of projects across the country, and have undertaken a large number of bridge inspections for Network Rail. The projects we undertake for our wide range of clients vary wildly, and we are yet to find a structural examination project that we can’t undertake.

Why choose SAS Rope & Rail?

We understand how important and convenient it is to have just one point of contact during any structural examination project. In order to meet these demands and satisfy every single client in our constantly growing and evolving client base, every member of our highly qualified team is safety boat trained. We currently have inflatable and hard hulled boats which we utilize during bridge inspections and other safety and structural examinations that take place over water.  This ensures the complete safety of our operatives that are working up on the ropes.

Where possible, our rope access teams will always carry out these examinations in high traffic areas or industries at night, in order to minimise the disruption to our client and ensure that they can continue to provide the highest possible level of service to their customers whilst the project is being carried out. However, we can also carry out your structural examinations during the day if this is your preferred option: We will always tailor our services to meet the needs of the client.

Our team

We only work with the most experienced and qualified rope technicians. All our technicians are trained and assessed by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).  Our technicians are also lead by highly experienced supervisors with a level 3 IRATA qualification.   In addition to this, our team have the highly sort after STE4 Structural Examination Qualification (Network Rail), are all CSCS card holders, and are trained and assessed in IPAF, confined spaces (NC4 High Risk) and First Aid.

What do we do?

Examples of recent projects we have undertaken include: • Safety surveys • Bridge inspections (including the iconic Forth Bridge) • Internal inspection of culverts • High level leak investigations

Once your inspection has been completed to the highest possible standard, we will produce a complete report and recommend any next steps that are required. A typical report will highlight any defects with your structure, provide photographic evidence if required and detail the results of any testing carried out.
